PDFSanitize is a software application for analyzing, sanitizing, and verifying PDF documents before they are shared. It can identify metadata, document identifiers, previous revisions, annotations, forms, embedded files, active document actions, hyperlinks, bookmarks, optional-content structures, and selected forms of hidden or off-page text. Depending on the selected profile and edition, PDFSanitize removes selected structures while preserving normal PDF content or reconstructs page content for higher assurance.
The document content is processed locally. PDF files do not need to be uploaded to a web-based conversion or sanitization service. Licensing and application-integrity functions can use Probativa network services, but those functions are separate from PDF content processing.
Note — source files are retained
PDFSanitize creates a separate sanitized output file and does not overwrite the source PDF. Treat the original and sanitized files as distinct records, and verify that you are sharing the intended output.
