Deactivate or Transfer a PDFSanitize License

Applies to: Pro and Enterprise

When to deactivate

Deactivate a paid license before permanently replacing, reimaging, retiring, or reassigning a computer when the product key must be reused on another device.

Deactivation communicates with the licensing service, releases the device activation when successful, and removes the matching local activation cache.

Deactivate the current device

  1. Connect the computer to a network path that can reach the Probativa licensing service.
  2. Open Help > License.
  3. Confirm that the current product key is shown.
  4. Select Deactivate.
  5. Confirm the deactivation prompt.
  6. After a successful result, restart PDFSanitize if prompted.

Do not delete the local application data or uninstall the product as a substitute for server-side deactivation.

Transfer to another device

After deactivation succeeds:

  1. Install PDFSanitize on the replacement computer.
  2. Open Help > License.
  3. Enter the released product key.
  4. Activate it normally.
  5. Restart and confirm that the expected edition is active.

If the old device is unavailable

If the computer has failed, been lost, or cannot contact the licensing service, normal in-application deactivation may not be possible. Contact Probativa support with the product, edition, affected device context, and a non-sensitive description of why the activation cannot be released normally.

Do not send passwords or unrelated sensitive document content with the support request.
