DriveErase is a Windows application for controlled, whole-device data sanitization. It identifies connected storage devices, records device identity and health information, applies a selected overwrite-based or device-firmware sanitization method, optionally assesses the device after sanitization, and produces operation records according to the active edition.
Destructive disk operations run in a dedicated Privileged Execution Environment outside the normal Windows session. This reduces interference from mounted volumes, running applications, file-system locks, and other operating-system activity. Before any erasure begins, the environment validates the signed job, confirms its licence policy and validity period, resolves each target by device identity, and protects the disk from which the environment is running.
DriveErase supports controlled workflows for hard disk drives, solid-state drives, NVMe devices, SAS devices, USB-attached storage, and removable flash media. Available methods and the strength of the resulting assurance depend on the device type, interface, controller path, selected method, completed verification, and recorded result.

DriveErase is designed to destroy all accessible data on the selected storage device. Confirm the model, serial number, capacity, interface, authorization, retention obligations, legal holds, backup requirements, and intended disposition before starting.
