Troubleshoot Licensing and Report Export

Applies to: All editions; report features vary by edition

Licence cannot validate

  1. Confirm date, time, time zone, internet access, DNS, proxy, and firewall settings.
  2. Re-enter the key exactly as issued.
  3. Confirm that the key belongs to DriveErase.
  4. Confirm that the activation has not already been transferred or exhausted.
  5. Confirm the edition permits Windows Server or virtual-machine use where applicable.
  6. Retry after resolving temporary network or service issues.

Offline validity expired

Reconnect through the approved network path and complete online validation. The protected local validation period is limited to 14 days after a successful online check.

Feature is unavailable

Review the active edition:

  • Firmware methods and post-erasure health require Pro or higher;
  • Normal report export requires Pro or higher;
  • Certified reports and server or virtual-machine use require Enterprise or Audit;
  • Digital signing and SaaS report management require Audit.

Restart or revalidate DriveErase after an edition upgrade.

Report export fails

Check:

  • Destination folder permissions;
  • Available disk space;
  • Filename length and unsupported characters;
  • Whether another application has locked the destination file;
  • Endpoint security controls;
  • Whether the required result data is still available;
  • Whether the active edition permits the selected report.

Try an approved local folder before transferring the file to a network repository.

PDF opens incorrectly

Export again to a local destination and verify the file before moving it. Preserve the failed file and error when the issue is reproducible. Do not use a repaired or partially rendered PDF as the authoritative record.

Audit validation fails

Confirm that the original signed file has not been modified. Re-download or retrieve the authoritative original, check service access and account authorization, and repeat validation. Treat a persistent invalid signature as an evidence exception.
