Applies to: All editions; Audit SaaS features require service connectivity
Offline operating window
After a successful online license validation, DriveErase stores protected local validation data and can operate without continuous internet access for up to 14 days. Another successful online validation is required after that period.
Plan restricted-network work so that validation remains current for the entire scheduled activity. A valid licence when the application opens does not justify starting an operation when the offline window is expected to expire before preparation is complete.
Preparation for an isolated site
Before moving the computer into the restricted environment:
- Install the approved DriveErase release.
- Activate and validate the license online.
- Confirm the edition and environment rights.
- Start and close DriveErase once to confirm protected local validation is available.
- Test the Privileged Execution Environment on representative hardware.
- Obtain current storage-controller drivers through the approved deployment process where required.
- Confirm system time, firmware time, and Windows time-zone configuration.
- Retain an offline copy of the required operating procedure and support information.
Proxy and firewall controls
Where internet access is permitted through controlled egress, allow the licensing and Audit service connections required by the current Probativa service configuration. Apply normal TLS inspection and proxy controls only when they do not invalidate secure service communication.
Clock changes
License and job validity depend on trustworthy timestamps. Large manual time changes, an incorrect time zone, or a failed hardware clock can prevent validation or cause a staged job to be rejected as expired or issued in the future.
Correct the system clock through the approved time service and create a new job rather than attempting to reuse rejected job data.
Audit SaaS features
DriveErase Audit can generate digitally signed reports. Upload, remote validation, and managed retrieval require access to the applicable SaaS service. Where reports must leave an isolated network through an approved transfer process, preserve the original signed file without modification.
