Troubleshoot Licensing, Reports, and Certificates

Problems with paid-edition features or report generation are generally separate from the image-cleanup process itself. They may be caused by activation status, network connectivity, version eligibility, device-seat limits, file selection, or permissions to save exported documents.

Checking the relevant license and processing status will usually narrow down the problem.

Pro or Enterprise features are missing

If advanced sanitization profiles, automatic visual detection, or professional report formats are unavailable, open About and select Licensing.

Confirm that the intended edition is activated and successfully validated. After activation, restart PhotoSanitize so the application can initialize the correct controls.

If the application continues operating as Standard, examine the validation message before reinstalling anything. The problem may concern the product key, its update entitlement, or the ability to contact the licensing service.

Activation fails

Start by confirming that the product key was entered correctly and belongs to PhotoSanitize. A key intended for another Probativa application or edition will not unlock the required features.

Activation also requires network access. If the licensing request cannot be completed, check your connection and any firewall or proxy restrictions affecting https://licensing.probativa.com.

If the license has already reached its permitted number of activated devices, deactivate an installation that is no longer needed before trying again.

A release that falls outside the purchased software-update entitlement may also be ineligible for activation with that key.

For persistent errors, contact Probativa Support with the displayed message and application version, without publicly exposing the full key.

The license stops validating while offline

Pro and Enterprise can continue operating for a limited period after successful online validation. If the computer remains disconnected beyond the permitted offline validity, paid features may become unavailable until the license can be validated again.

Restore connectivity and use the licensing controls to confirm the current activation.

If the issue continues despite an available connection, examine whether the key remains eligible and whether network security software is blocking the validation request.

Windows Server or virtual-machine restriction

Enterprise is required for supported Windows Server and virtual-machine use.

If the application reports an environment restriction, confirm both the actual Windows environment and the activated PhotoSanitize edition.

An active Pro license does not provide the deployment permissions of Enterprise.

If you believe the environment has been identified incorrectly, record the error and contact Probativa Support.

A report format is unavailable

TXT reporting is included in every edition, while PDF, CSV, and JSON require Pro or Enterprise.

If the desired format is unavailable, confirm your activated edition.

Also check that the intended images are included in the Photo Queue. Report export operates on the included selection, not merely the highlighted image.

A report cannot be saved

If report generation fails during file creation, examine the destination directory and filename.

You need permission to write to the selected folder, and sufficient storage must be available. A network share may also become inaccessible during the export.

Try saving the report to a normal local folder. If that succeeds, investigate the permissions or availability of the original destination.

The report does not show successful sanitization

A report reflects the actual recorded state of each included image.

If a file was only analyzed, it will not be described as successfully sanitized. Similarly, an image whose verification failed will not have the same result as one that passed every required check.

Before exporting again, inspect the Photo Queue and Verification tab. If necessary, correct the processing issue and produce a new report from the completed results.

Certificate of Sanitization cannot be generated

Certificates are available only in Enterprise and require every included image to have successful sanitization and verification results.

If one image is incomplete, failed, or missing its sanitized output, the certificate selection does not meet the requirements.

Review the included files individually. Correct the affected operation, run verification where appropriate, or exclude a file that is not intended to be part of the certificate.

A certificate cannot be used to turn incomplete processing into a successful result.

Reports or certificates are difficult to locate

Exported documents are saved to the location selected in the Save dialog. They do not necessarily appear beside the original or sanitized photographs.

Check the chosen destination and filename, particularly if several exports were created on the same day.

For organizational work, using a consistent report directory makes records easier to retrieve and helps maintain the association between images and their processing documentation.
