Sanitization Profiles and Settings

PhotoSanitize uses sanitization profiles to determine which information should be removed and how the output image should be created. Some profiles prioritize preservation of the original encoded picture, while others reconstruct the image or include automatic visual privacy protection.

The predefined profiles are designed to cover common situations without requiring individual configuration of every option. Metadata Only and Standard are available in every edition. Pro and Enterprise add Rebuild, Maximum Privacy, and Custom.

Understanding PhotoSanitize Sanitization Profiles explains the differences and helps you choose the right approach. Metadata Only and Standard Sanitization Profiles examines the two profiles intended for ordinary hidden-information cleanup, while Rebuild and Maximum Privacy Sanitization Profiles covers more extensive processing and visual review.

Pro and Enterprise users can consult Configure Custom Sanitization Options to learn about the available controls. Image Quality, Color, Transparency, and Frames explains how certain settings may affect the photograph beyond removing unwanted metadata.

If you are unsure which profile to use, begin with Standard. For photographs that contain visible personal or confidential information, inspect the Visual Privacy tab before sanitization. When you need to preserve professional image characteristics, pay particular attention to reconstruction, color, and frame-handling options.
