Export CertErase Logs as TXT or PDF

Applies to: All editions (TXT); Pro, Enterprise and Audit (PDF)

Export as TXT

  1. Complete or stop the operation.
  2. Review the Output area for completeness.
  3. Open the Reports tab or use the right click context menu in the Output area.
  4. Select TXT export.
  5. Choose an approved destination.
  6. Use a file name that links the record to the case, ticket, asset, or authorization.
  7. Confirm that the saved file opens and contains the expected beginning, item records, and final status.

TXT is suitable for machine search, ticket attachment, and preservation of raw operational text. Protect it because it can contain user names, machine details, file paths, and error information.

Export as PDF

  1. Confirm that the active edition permits PDF export.
  2. Open the Reports tab or use the right click context menu in the Output area.
  3. Select PDF export.
  4. Choose an approved destination and file name.
  5. Open the output and inspect pagination, characters, long paths, and final status.

PDF provides a fixed-layout presentation of the output but should not be treated as cryptographically signed unless a separate signature workflow is applied and verifiable.

File naming convention

A recommended convention is:

CERTERASE_<case-or-asset>_<UTC-date-time>_<status>.<ext>

Example:

CERTERASE_ASSET-1042_2026-08-04T143000Z_COMPLETE.pdf

Avoid placing confidential file names in the evidence filename unless required.

Integrity and retention

Where evidence integrity matters:

  • Store the exported file in a controlled repository;
  • Record a repository-generated hash or immutable-object identifier;
  • Restrict modification and deletion;
  • Retain the original alongside any reviewed or signed derivative;
  • Record reviewer approval separately.
