PhotoSanitize is installed as a Windows desktop application. Before starting, confirm that your computer runs a supported 64-bit Windows version and that your Windows account is permitted to install software.
Organizations using managed computers may need to obtain the installation package through their IT department rather than installing it directly.
Installing PhotoSanitize
- Download the PhotoSanitize installation package from Probativa Downloads.
- If the package is supplied as a ZIP archive, extract it to a normal folder.
- Run the installer and follow the displayed instructions.
- When installation completes, start PhotoSanitize from the Windows Start menu or its installed shortcut.
The application can be used in Standard without entering a paid product key. If you purchased Pro or Enterprise, open the Licensing tab in the About window, activate the appropriate key, and restart PhotoSanitize.
After installation, it is worth performing a simple test before working with important files. Add a normal JPEG or PNG photograph, run Analyze Selected, and inspect the results. You can then sanitize the image using the Standard profile and check that the new output is created and verified successfully.
This confirms that the application can access photographs, create files in the intended output location, and complete its normal processing workflow.
Updating PhotoSanitize
Close PhotoSanitize before installing a newer release. If an operation is running, allow it to finish or cancel it safely and check the results before closing the application.
Obtain the updated installation package from an official Probativa source and follow its installation instructions. Once the update is complete, start PhotoSanitize and check the displayed application version and licensed edition.
Your original photographs, sanitized outputs, and exported reports are separate from the application installation. Nevertheless, important files should always be included in your normal backup procedure before software or operating system changes.
Pro and Enterprise licenses are subject to software-update entitlement. A perpetual license does not necessarily cover every future release. If the new version is outside the eligible update period, you may need to install an entitled version or renew your update eligibility.
For organizations, testing a new release with representative file formats is advisable before updating every workstation or server. This is especially useful when the workflow involves specialized TIFF files, HEIC photographs, animation, automated processing, or specific reporting requirements.
Removing PhotoSanitize
If you are removing a Pro or Enterprise installation because the computer is being replaced, deactivate its product key first, while the machine and licensing service are still accessible.
If Windows Explorer integration is installed, remove the integration using the application before uninstalling. Then remove PhotoSanitize through the normal Windows application-management interface.
Uninstalling does not constitute image sanitization. Photographs that were previously processed, original files, and exported reports must still be managed separately. Similarly, uninstalling without deactivating a paid license may leave the device’s activation seat occupied.
In an organization, the removal procedure should be coordinated with normal device-retirement and data-retention practices, particularly if the computer contains confidential originals or processing records.
