Install, Update, and Remove PDFSanitize

Before installation

Obtain the installer through an authorized Probativa channel and use the release information for that package to confirm supported Windows versions and architecture. PDFSanitize is published for 64-bit Windows on x64-compatible systems.

Before deployment, confirm that users can read the source-document locations and create sanitized files and reports in the intended destinations.

Install PDFSanitize

  1. Sign in to Windows with an account authorized to install software under the organization’s policy.
  2. Run the PDFSanitize installer.
  3. Review the license terms and complete installation.
  4. Start PDFSanitize.
  5. If a Pro or Enterprise license will be used, open the License page and activate the product key.
  6. Restart the application after successful paid-edition activation.
  7. Add a representative non-sensitive PDF, analyze it, sanitize it, and verify the output.

First-use validation

Confirm that:

  • The expected edition appears in the application;
  • PDFs can be added from normal working locations;
  • Folder import finds PDFs in expected subfolders;
  • Sanitized outputs can be written beside the source files;
  • Verification completes successfully on representative PDFs; and
  • Required report formats are available for the activated edition.

Update PDFSanitize

Before updating, finish active processing and retain any reports or certificates required by policy. Install the approved newer release, restart the application, and allow the license to revalidate if requested.

A paid license can be restricted to versions released during its applicable update-entitlement period. If activation reports that the installed version is outside that period, install an eligible version or renew the applicable entitlement.

Remove PDFSanitize

Before permanently removing the application or decommissioning the licensed computer:

  1. Retain required reports, certificates, and sanitized outputs.
  2. Deactivate a Pro or Enterprise license if the key must be transferred to another device.
  3. Remove PDFSanitize through the normal Windows application-management process.

Uninstalling PDFSanitize does not delete source PDFs, sanitized outputs, or previously exported evidence, and it does not automatically release an activated paid license.
